“I’ve been a huge fan of Scout Comics for a long time. It didn’t take them long to prove themselves as a publisher of quality comics by quality creators. I’m thrilled to be a part of it and to have This Little Piggy share a label with books like Impossible Jones, By the Horns, and Killchella.” -- Shawn Gabborin:

Castles Haunted By Ghosts & Swamps With Unspeakable Monsters? TALES FROM THE GRAVE #1 Is Coming This October From Scout Comics!

Logline:
Graveyards populated by the rotting undead. Castles haunted by ghosts. Swamps that hide unspeakable monsters. You will find these and much more inside Tales from the Grave!

Synopsis:

A debtor to classic EC Comics and movies such as Creepshow and Body Bags, TALES FROM THE GRAVE will transport you back in time with its aesthetic and language. In fact, like the silent movies at the dawn of motion pictures, the thirteen stories that make up this miniseries are silent and imbued with a rather black sense of humor that is sure to bring a smile to your face. But be careful… because a seemingly innocent laugh can camouflage an unimaginable horror that can grab you and plunge you into darkness!

Quote From Creator.

“Working with Scout is a huge honor for me. It’s thanks to them that I have started to have a “name” in the American comic book industry, and I can call this a real job. Having a publisher like Scout is the best thing for me because—working alone as I do (and as I want)—they leave me total freedom and control of my IPs. That said, if I have any needs, I can count on my editor, the graphic design crew, and all the other members of the team. What more can you ask for?” – Marco Fontanili

A creepy, gross, unsettling horror tale that’ll hit your gag reflex in all the right ways. The story is told from a unique point of view, the horror element is super gross, and the art is well done.

Pull Quotes
Jarred Lujan (ATDAH, Dry Foot, Crash & Troy): The Greylock does my favorite thing: it takes high concepts, like fantasy and magic, and brings them down to our dirty little level. It’s full of characters that you want to know more and more about and sets them in a world of mysticism that Harry Potter wouldn’t hang out in when the sun goes down. This book is extremely, and unapologetically, badass. Sign me up for thirty issues.

David Hazan (Nottingham, Death Drop Drag Assassin): Equal parts enthralling and terrifying, The Greylock brings to life a modern-day high fantasy world that has all the bombast and spectacle of Bright paired with honesty and grit of the kind that only Shockey and Ilhan can provide.

Morgan Hampton (Dawn of DC: Cyborg): Greylock is like Blade Runner meets Dungeons & Dragons. Shockey and Ilhan drop fantastical elements into a semi-futuristic world that uses spellslinging and monsters to explore themes at the intersection of racism and classism. They are truly in their magical bag.
A Peaceful Town Is Terrified By Horrific Creatures In MARE HOLLOW: THE SHOEMAKER! Arriving This October From Scout Comics!

A Peaceful Town Is Terrified By Horrific Creatures In MARE HOLLOW: THE SHOEMAKER! Arriving This October From Scout Comics!

Logline:
“Mare Hollow: The Shoemaker” is a horror-centric graphic novel, which combines traditional elements of gothic horror, with newer ideas of cosmic horror, and renders the story in an art style reminiscent of 1930’s Disney animation to play up the idea of a peaceful town, and cute characters, being perverted by terrifying, other-worldly creatures.

Synopsis:
The Shoemaker leads a simple life, taking care of his cat, making shoes, and enjoying success with his business in his simple little home, in the town of “Mare Hollow.”  The only thing it seems he could possibly want for is love, but when a beautiful woman, Ida, visits his shop, he may have just found it. It would seem the bright and peaceful town could almost be a little slice of heaven, if only there wasn’t something about “Mare Hollow” that carried a forbidding darkness. After all, the terrors of ones own nightmares can only go ignored for so long.

"In what is a usually risk-averse environment, Scout comics was willing to take a chance on me and Mitch, which says a lot about Scout comics and the people who comprise it. Bold publishers make for fresh comics and fresh ideas. All I hope is to give my readers a few new ideas, few new perspectives, which are essential for embarking on new adventures." - Maxim Šimić (creator/writer/artist)

"Working on Mitch was more than just a great excuse to finally do something with Maxim. Having lettered comics for comic artist friends, Mitch is my first work being published overseas. It was a big learning experience as well, working in another language, with a different lettering tradition. I am grateful to Maxim for having me on his project and to Scout comics for picking up this title. What do we do next?"  - Josip Sršen (letterer)

Reviews & Testimonials

Maxim Simic’s new book, Mitch, a heady cocktail of folklore, sci-fi, espionage, and hardboiled pulp fiction, is literally like no other comic on the stands!  Funny, beautifully drawn, and dripping with a kind of unshaven, unwashed, hungover charm, it’s irresistible.  It kept me guessing, and I love that! - John Arcudi

 Reviews

“Just like Howie himself, this series is energetic, hilarious, and endlessly charming. Get it while it’s hot!” Mat Groom, writer of INFERNO GIRL RED, SELF/MADE (Image Comics), ULTRAMAN (Marvel Comics).

"I loved this engaging and delightful comic - delightful despite being largely about a murderous hell hound! Not everything has to be epically convoluted, and this book engages with believable dialogue and a no-messing pace. The characters are likable, and the art is charming, with very solid storytelling beats. Treat yourself!" Scout Comics & Sam Moore Have Partnered With Look Mom! Productions To Develop THE TRAVELER'S GUIDE TO FLOGORIA As An Animated Series.

July 11th, 2023 --Scout Comics & Entertainment and creator Sam Moore have partnered with Josh Bowen and Look Mom! Productions (Blue Ant Media) to develop Moore's sci-fi epic adventure tale THE TRAVELER'S GUIDE TO FLOGORIA as an animated series.

TRAVELER'S GUIDE TO FLOGORIA is an epic, alien world-spanning adventure that’s part Mad Max road movie, part Stand by Me coming of age journey, and part otherworldly travel and food show. It’s the story of an average joe, trying to survive in a world that’s 100% not average and 150% not Earth. We follow Harry Blandford as he attempts to navigate his way through the fantastic world of Flogoria. But the bizarre flora, fauna, and customs of his new environment aren’t the only things he has to contend with. He also has to learn to overcome the fears and anxieties of his, at times, uncooperative mind.

Look Mom! recently produced DOOMLANDS, created by Josh O'Keefe, for The Roku Channel. They also produced the award-winning series GARY AND HIS DEMONS, created by Mark Little, which was produced for VRV but later moved to Amazon Prime for its second season.

Josh Bowen wrote and Executive Produced the hit short format animated comedy series Goodwin vs. Badwin. In 2013, Josh joined Blue Ant to launch the adult animated comedy shorts program Bite on Mondo. The shorts were compiled into a series called Night Sweats, which airs on Teletoon and Adult Swim in Canada. Josh is currently spearheading Look Mom! Productions and in his spare time, Josh enjoys writing his bio and referencing himself in the third person.

Scout Comics & Entertainment was founded in 2015 and has over 250 titles in their catalog. Scout books have sold to Disney, Amazon Studios, Rooster Teeth, and FilmNation, among others.
