Synopsis
 

Liverpool in the early 70s. Seamus Young is a young orphan of Irish descent. He has an eye that has been disfigured by a large scar, lives in a miserable apartment, works a awful job unloading garbage at the docks, and has no girlfriend.

However, as grim as this might seem, his situation will get much worse. Quite unexpectedly, he finds a dismembered hand floating in the river. Before long, he is immersed in a criminal conspiracy involving the IRA. And all this, because of a secret—Seamus has a broken eye, but it allows him to see into the past!

PETER LANDESMAN TO WRITE AND DIRECT SCOUT COMICS “THE RECOUNT", KADINCREATIVE  & MOTOR CONTENT TO PRODUCE

Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA (November 29th, 2021) –  As announced EXCLUSIVELY on DEADLINE.com , Peter Landesman (Concussion, Parkland, Felt) has come on board to adapt and direct Scout Comics best-selling comic series THE RECOUNT into a feature film for Don Handfield's Motor Content (The Founder, Knightfall) and Jonathan Kadin's KadinCreative (Cinderella). Nick Jones Jr. will co-write with Landesman. 

The fictional political thriller penned by US army veteran Jonathan Hedrick, was published by Scout Comics in November of 2020 on the eve of the most contested election in modern history and despite its fictional and apolitical stance -- seemed oddly clairvoyant in its dark portrayal of a nation on the brink. Blending the political intrigue of House of Cards and the horror of The Purge, “The Recount” is a realistic action-thriller set in an unsettlingly recognizable American political climate.

When the US President is assassinated by one of his own security detail, a Secret Service agent must protect the Vice President at all costs from a vast, dangerous conspiracy. With nowhere to turn and no one to trust, these two women with completely opposing beliefs must work together to fight back and preserve what’s left of American democracy.

Landesman and Kadin previously worked together on Sony’s CONCUSSION starring Will Smith, which Landesman wrote and directed and Kadin oversaw as the studio’s Executive Vice President. Prior to that, Landesman and Handfield worked together on political thriller KILL THE MESSENGER starring two-time Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner for Focus Features which Landesman wrote and Handfield Executive Produced. Landesman went on to write and direct PARKLAND, about the aftermath of the assassination of JFK, the aforementioned CONCUSSION as well as FELT starring Liam Neeson.

His current work includes the zombie one-shots Freakshow Princess & Freakshow Knight (from Second Sight Publishing),  a superhero story called Capable. His prescient and taut political thriller The Recount was one of Scout’s best-selling comics. In addition to being a writer, Jonathan is a licensed radiologic technologist. TRACKER COLLECTIBLES, a new action figure/collectible toy company headed by Peter Goral, is proud to announce the launch of a new Kickstarter campaign for a brand new, 3 3/34 action figure of both Phantom Starkiller and Julius Black (The Electric Black).

Goral (also known as Killer Bootlegs) has been at the forefront of the handmade action figure movement for years and has inspired countless others to follow in his footsteps. His figures and art are highly sought after by collectors and have been in galleries all over the world. Phantom Starkiller and Julius Black are the first of many figures planned for Tracker.

In Category Zero, Earth's entire population has become infected with an airborne virus, but only one percent have the specific gene required to activate it and they become to be known as the "One Percenters". These individuals begin to develop unusual abilities due to the rare gene. In most cases these abilities are harmless but, in a few isolated cases, they become extremely dangerous. Because of this threat, all One Percenters are forced into isolated facilities run by a company called Sanaxus to undergo further testing. Under the guise of being a research company searching for a cure, Sanaxus carries out barbaric tests on the One Percenters with their own secret agenda in mind. That is, until a cataclysmic event at a minimum-security camp involving One Percenter Lenard Higgs, a former college professor, triggers the start of a war between government-backed Sanaxus and the One Percenters.
