The dynamic duo of Matt Knowles and Steph Cannon are the co-writers / co-creators of MISFITZ CLUBHOUSE. Although this is their initial title for SCOUT/SCOOT and their first foray into all-ages fare, they are well known in the independent circuit through their INSYMMETRY CREATIONS LLC moniker, home of the apocalyptic steampunk series, Heirs Of Isildur, the medieval fantasy, Tales From Nocturnia, and their own self-produced metal music. The pair are also known for their wild and creative crowdfunding campaigns and unique merchandise offerings.

Misfitz Clubhouse premiered in Scoot Frontiers in 2021 and will remain a regular feature in that activity-filled magazine. Expect more one-shots, merchandise, and yes, shenanigans from the Misfitz kids for years to come! There is always room for more on their Radio Flyer bandwagon and imagination is the ticket that will take you anywhere!

Summary

Philip Blank is the top agent for the sci-fi spy organization W.O.R.L.D.E., keeping capitalism safe from aliens, time travelers, and maladjusted geniuses off their meds. But lately he’s been having doubts about his work, wondering if there might be more to life than missions and mega-violence. This starts Philip on a death-or-more-death journey through the weirdest W.O.R.L.D.E. has to offer; epicurean terrorist organizations, horny robots, alien origin stories, ex-spies with metal eyes, and a web of secrets and lies of Blank’s own making.

Summary

As the Mega Centurions, Cassidy, Reggie, and Thad saved the world from an alien invasion led by Prince Venkor. Unfortunately, things went downhill after that. They lost their powers and were unable to prove they were the Mega Centurions. Now, they work stressful jobs in the big city and struggle to pay the rent. Things change once they meet the Grey Knight, an interstellar mercenary and former henchman for the prince. Grey warns of a second invasion and asks for their help in protecting the Earth. Can she be trusted and can they be heroes without powers?

FEBRUARY 15, 2022 - Scout Comics & Entertainment Holdings, Inc. continues to innovate with an exciting new line of collectibles called PRESSWORKS PLATES, which will premiere on the WhatNot app Sunday, February 20 AT 7:00PM EST to celebrate indy comics week.

These beautiful pieces incorporate the actual printing plates used in the production of a Scout comic. Each of these unique items are one-of-a-kind treasures commemorating a moment in comic book history. Once a collector snaps one of them up, it’s gone! PRESSWORK PLATES come framed and adorned with a metal plate commemorating the publication’s title, page numbers and the date the comic book was printed! The matching certificate of authenticity completes the keepsake.

When the printer prints a single comic using the CMYK process, it is printed in 8 page increments using four different plates. Black, Cyan (Blue), Magenta, and Yellow. Interior page PRESSWORKS PLATES will be sold in two page increments in four different colors. When the PRESSWORK PLATES are a cover, it will feature one incredible, oversized framed plate in four different colors.

Harper Will Become A Hero No Matter What Her Mom Says. SOLTAIC Launches This March By Scout Comics!

In a world where freelance superheroes are outlawed, former hero in hiding Lexa will do anything to save her superpowered daughter from becoming a superhero.

Scout is excited to announce the premiere of Chris Williams’ electrifying new comic book, Soltaic! Fans of New Mutants and His Dark Materials will enjoy this captivating series. Soltaic will be an young adult, NonStop release with the first issue coming in February and the entire first graphic novel in stores later this year.

In Soltaic Lexa is a single mother, and an outcast hero in hiding, who was once known as Elysium. She and her superpowered daughter, Harper, are just trying to get by in a world where freelance Extraordinaries have been outlawed. When young people with powers begin to disappear, the relationship between mother and teenager grows tense. Lexa has devoted her life to protecting her child and knows firsthand the pitfalls of being a hero. She doesn’t want her daughter to get involved, but Harper wants to protect the new generation of Extraordinaries.

Chris Williams spent over seven years developing and refining Soltaic, his first published comic. The creator comments, ”That’s most of my son’s life, he’s eleven.” Chris worked hard to achieve his childhood dream and pushed himself “not to just get it done, but to make sure it was my best effort.” The writer/artist/colorist says that someone once told him to “own his power”, that’s advice he’d like to pass on to aspiring creators everywhere.

Juniper will premiere as a Scout NonStop title, with the first issue being released in March 2022 and a graphic novel following later in the year.
