May 12th, 2023 -- Prodigal, Inc. has optioned the upcoming Scout Comics title TRANCE, which was created and written by Joey Capuana, with an eye towards adapting it as a scripted series.
Along the Savannah River is a nightclub called Trance where drinks are strong, the dancefloor’s bumping, and drag shows blow your mind. What Trance’s patrons don’t know, however, is that the effervescent hotspot is run entirely by witches. In between partying, a coven of novice spellcasters discreetly study magic to enhance their lives and enliven local nightlife.
But suddenly their world has turned deadly serious. A homophobic serial killer is targeting victims using a hookup app and the witches are worried–none more so than drag diva Altar, whose longtime lover has inexplicably vanished. Armed with tomes and tenacity, Altar and his chosen family investigate, defying police and witch law alike, and uncover an evil more powerful and personal than they could have imagined.
Prodigal, Inc. are the producers of Tony & Grammy-winning musical Jagged Little Pill, BBC America/Netflix’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, and numerous projects with Audible including forthcoming horror anthology Earworms. Prodigal is a partnership between writer/producer Arvind Ethan David (Dirk Gently, Anansi Boys) and producer Tarquin Pack (Kick-Ass 1 & 2, X-Men: First Class). Together, they try to reclaim a bit of Christmas and help each other deal with the aftermath of death. The Quarry is a coming of age story about young love and loss, set against the harsh winter wonderland of Northern Michigan.

Synopsis:
A slew of mysterious disappearances sweeps across the city’s queer districts. The police are unconcerned, and, well, it’s nothing the queer community hasn’t seen again and again. Even for Death Drop, it doesn’t hit home until her drag sister, Lunaira Sun, goes missing.
At the insistence of Mother Henny, her drag mother, Death Drop uses her assassin skills to pick up the scent of the wayward Lunaira. What she finds is a trail of supernaturally disfigured corpses, a leather-clad killer hell-bent on revenge, and an enigmatic queen from Mother Henny’s past. To make matters worse, she can’t shake the feeling that the specter of the assassin mentor she exposed and left for dead years ago is now haunting her every step.
